REVISED March & April Schedule

In the IMPORTANT INFO section, you will see a copy of the revised March & April rehearsal schedule.  This was updated as of today, 2/29.  Please refer to THIS rehearsal schedule from here on out.  The cast and crew were emailed a copy and we will be passing out copies at tomorrow night's rehearsal, but we wanted to include it on the blog as well.

Notes for Thursday 3/1

The complete March & April rehearsal schedule will be emailed out and posted on the blog later today or tomorrow.  Here are some important notes for the Thursday rehearsal.

All cast should be in attendance from 6:30 - 8 p.m.  This includes the Children's Chorus.  Please be on time -- we will start promptly at 6:30.  If you did not come to get measured for your costume, you will need to be pulled out of rehearsal to do so.  We will be having a cast meeting, read-through, and learning the curtain call song "So Long Farewell" (if time allows).  Parents of younger children are encouraged to attend the cast meeting from 6:30 - 6:50/7 p.m.(ish).  We would also like to invite crew members and orchestra members to attend the read-through if they feel they need to become more acquainted with the musical.  Everyone will be excused at 8 p.m. EXCEPT the nuns (including Mother and Sisters Berthe, Margaretta and Sophia) and the postulants.  They will be learning their music from 8 - 9 p.m.  Thanks to the YW Stake Presidency, our nursery will start on Thursday, 3/1 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. if you need to bring your children.

IMPORTANT:  If you joined (or are joining) the cast AFTER auditions OR you never filled out your paperwork, we need you to fill out the Audition Packet that is on the blog and bring it on Thursday.  Ignore the part about what role you are trying out for, but please fill out all your personal information and volunteer agreement if you have young children joining the cast.

ATTENTION ALL CAST MEMBERS:  If you have not been measured for your costume yet, please plan on coming by the Millstream/Ridgedale building sometime between 9 - 11 a.m. on 2/25 to do so.

Additional Cast Opportunities

We still have room for some ensemble parts in the show.

- Children's Chorus (Girls and Boys ages 3 - 12).  Will be signing prelude and intermission, appearing in Party Scene.  Older girls will possibly sing in wedding (TBD) and Older Boys (ages 10 - 12) will also be Hitler Youth.

- Postulants/Party Guests (Young Women/Young Adult Women) - sing with Nun's chorus, appear in party scene

- Nun's Chorus/Party Guests (Adult Women) - singing

- Nazi Soldiers/Party Guests (Young Men/Men) - YM may sing during intermission (TBD), other than that, these are non-singing parts, but you will sing with the chorus during the Curtain Call.

Our terrific Production Assistant, Summer Williams, has put together a Cast & Crew Directory.  You should have received a Google invitation to view the document.  This is a private document and will not go on the blog.  You must have a Google account and an invitation to view it.  A Google account is very easy to set up if you do not have one.  Just go to google.com and sign up!

I am asking each of you to please look at your contact information on the document and let us know if there are any mistakes.  If you are also a member of our Production Team, please check the 2nd page of the document named "CREW" to see if that info is also correct.  And finally, if you don't want to get a Google account and just trust we have the info right, that works too. :)

February Schedule & Notes

Sorry this wasn't up last night, but thanks for your patience.  As some of you are already aware, we do not receive our scripts or music from R&H until March 2nd, so our February schedule will focus on the leads/principals learning the songs.  See the LINKS section for the schedule.

Entire Cast:  We ask you to come by the Millstream/Ridgedale building sometime on Saturday, 2/18 from 9 - 11 a.m. or Saturday, 2/25 from 9 - 11 a.m. to get measured for costumes.  Also please plan on attending our 1st Group Rehearsal on Thursday, March 1st at the M/R building at 6:30 PM.  A detailed March - April schedule will be posted sometime next week.

Musicians: Our Orchestra Director John McAllister will be contacting you directly and we will post your schedule soon.  Since we don't have the music yet, don't plan on any rehearsals until March.

For Grant Stake Members wanting to join the chorus: I have received several inquiries about people still wanting to join the cast.  We will accept new cast members until March 8th.  These parts include:

• Children's Chorus: Girls ages 12 & under, Boys ages 12 & under (boys ages 10 - 12 will also be Hitler Youth)
• Nun's Chorus/Party Guest: Adult Women
• Postulant (Young Nun)/Party Guest: Teen Girls & Young Adult Women

Production Meeting TONIGHT

What a difficult process you all made this for us!  I am not exaggerating.  We really struggled with the casting, especially the Von Trapp Children, and we didn't leave the church until 11:15 p.m. last night because it was such a challenge coming up with a final decision. Audition Update

Wow!  We had such a great turnout last night.  Thank you to everyone who came to the auditions and shared their talents.  Tomorrow will be our second Open Auditions and will now go from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., not 10:30 a.m.  Hope to see the rest of you there!
